Summary – 2020 RHP Europe Roundtable
RHP Malmö 2020
Malmö, Sweden, Scandinavia’s most diverse city, was the host of the 2020 Refugee Highway Partnership European Roundtable. This year the RHP Leadership Team and Swedish hosting team welcomed 255 people from 25 different countries and over 100 different organizations. The RHP Europe network provides the opportunity to get outside and see what God is doing around the continent and world, but also to learn from one another. As the skills and challenges of ministering to refugees are larger than any one ministry, denomination, organisation or even government, we need to network in order to pool our resources so that we can have greater impact and strive for best practices in our work, and the Roundtable is a place for practitioners, ministry leaders, and lay people to network and learn from and with others who are engaging with forcibly displaced people along the Refugee Highway. This year’s plenary speaker was Pastor Niels Nymann Eriksen from Copenhagen. The theme this year was “Radical Hospitality”, and Pastor Niels shared truths and challenges from Jesus’s parable of the Good Samaritan.
There were also many opportunities for people to share resources and encourage one another. This year Roundtable also included several ministry excursions to support and learn about different ministries taking place in the Malmö area as well as several workshops. This year also included a special focus on the special needs of refugee children and their families. In every place of ministry or encounter we can be a people that offer radical hospitality because we have been shown radical hospitality. Please consider joining us for our next event in Athens in 2021.
